We’re thrilled you’ll be joining us for Knowledge Fest by Guru 2022 (referred to as “Knowledge Fest” herein). To ensure we create a safe and inclusive environment for all at Knowledge Fest, and for complete details on the terms that apply to registration and other important information, please read through everything below.
In the unlikely event that we have to reschedule or cancel Knowledge Fest, we’ll notify you by public announcement on getguru.com/knowledge-fest, by email, and/or by other methods. If the event is canceled, your registration will also be canceled
Your privacy is important to us, so please read our full privacy policy here, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.
Registration data
We may share your registration data with our vendors in order to provide event information and help improve your experience at Knowledge Fest. For example, if we offer a mobile app, we might make your data available to the mobile app provider so it’s accessible through the app. We may also share your registration data with providers related to Knowledge Fest, like Guru, our event platform and registration service providers, and other vendors who work with us to make sure Knowledge Fest is a great experience for you. By providing your registration data to us, you grant us permission to do these things.
We will not sell, rent, or give your registration data to third parties. You have the option at registration to allow us to share your registration information (including your name and email) with Knowledge Fest sponsors, and if you select this option, we’ll share your information with Knowledge Fest sponsors so you can receive communications directly from them. You also may have the option of sharing your information (such as your avatar, name, company, and job title) directly with other attendees or sponsors through our event platform or other online communities. If you choose to share (or allow us to share) your information, you understand that we do not control how other attendees or sponsors use your information. The important point here is that you will have control over which information is shared with other attendees and/or sponsors, and you can choose whether or not to share your information. If you believe a sponsor or other attendee has collected your information without your consent, please inform us immediately.
We may share performance metrics such as page views, clicks, and impressions with Knowledge Fest sponsors or vendors to measure the performance of our Knowledge Fest platform, content, and advertising that we provide through the platform. We will use this information in compliance with our privacy policy.
By registering for Knowledge Fest, you agree to follow our Code of Conduct, which is outlined below. Our Code of Conduct outlines the behavior we expect from everyone at Knowledge Fest.
The Quick Version
Knowledge Fest is dedicated to providing a harassment-free Knowledge Fest experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment of Knowledge Fest participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any Knowledge Fest venue, including talks, workshops, parties, Twitter and other online media. Knowledge Fest participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the Knowledge Fest without a refund at the discretion of the Knowledge Fest organizers.
The Less Quick Version
Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, technology choices, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
Sponsors are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, sponsors should not use sexualized images, activities, or other material. Booth staff (including volunteers) should not use sexualized clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualized environment.
If an attendee engages in harassing behavior, the Knowledge Fest organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the Knowledge Fest with no refund.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of Knowledge Fest or Guru staff immediately.
Knowledge Fest staff will be happy to help attendees contact security or local law enforcement or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the Knowledge Fest. We value your attendance.
We expect participants to follow these rules at Knowledge Fest and Knowledge Fest-related social events.
If we (in our sole discretion) determine that you are behaving in a manner that is—or could be—disruptive to the event or other attendees, violates our Code of Conduct, or is in violation of these terms, then we can limit your access or ban you from the event. If we do, you aren’t entitled to any form of compensation. At our discretion, we may also ban you from future events for a definite or indefinite time period.
If you notify us of an individual who you believe is acting in a manner which violates our Code of Conduct or these terms, we will take your concern seriously, but any action that we may or may not take will be at our sole discretion.
The views or opinions expressed by any event attendee, speaker or sponsor are not necessarily our views or opinions. All event attendees, speakers, and sponsors are responsible for their own content (including presentations, marketing collateral, advertising, and online content). You are not allowed to use any content that infringes another party’s intellectual property rights, is harassing, misleading, or unlawful.
We don’t want confusion about our event, so you agree that you won’t host any competing events during Knowledge Fest and you won’t use the Knowledge Fest name or the names of our sponsors (which includes Guru), without our written permission first.
Unless we notify you otherwise, then you’re permitted to take screenshots, photos, videos, or audio recordings (collectively, “recordings”) of most sessions at Knowledge Fest, as long as you comply with these terms.
These recordings might include content or material that is protected by copyrights, trademarks, or other rights which we own or license. So, other than for your personal use, you are not allowed to copy, reproduce, publish, or distribute the recordings without our written permission.
We allow – and even encourage you – to disseminate the recordings through social media (like tweeting, or posting to Facebook or Instagram). Here are a couple of examples of what’s allowed: tweeting “#GuruKnowledgeFest2022 = the best time ever!” with a picture of you or your team attending the digital sessions. Here are a couple of examples of what’s not allowed: posting a live stream of a breakout session, and posting a picture on Facebook of one of our speakers after we announced that recordings aren’t allowed.
Some important restrictions: you agree that you won’t use any recordings (1) in a way that is misleading or disparaging, (2) in a way that implies that the content of the recordings is your own, (3) for commercial purposes (this means, for example, you can’t sell them) or in a way that implies that we endorse, sponsor or approve of your business, services or products, or (4) in violation of applicable law (including but not limited to privacy laws) or in connection with an obscene, indecent, or unlawful topic or material. If we request that you discontinue use of any recordings, you will immediately comply with our request. And of course, if we do notify you that recordings aren’t allowed, then you agree that you won’t take any recordings.
By attending Knowledge Fest and related events, you consent to having your image, voice, likeness, presentation and/or other copyrightable material recorded, including video, audio, and still photography. We reserve the right to use recordings taken at Knowledge Fest and related events however we might choose to, without giving you notice or any compensation. We might use them, for example, in our press releases, marketing materials, or other publications.
We want everyone to be safe at Knowledge Fest.
All security concerns should be reported to Knowledge Fest staff immediately by emailing knowledgefest@getguru.com. Our security team may take whatever measures they deem appropriate without prior notice in order to aim to ensure the safety of attendees at Knowledge Fest.
We might make updates to the agenda from time to time, which could include a change in speakers or the cancellation of certain sessions. We can’t promise the attendance of any speaker, entertainer, or presenter and won’t provide any compensation based on changes to the agenda. We also can’t guarantee admission to any certain session, since some sessions are subject to capacity limits and availability, and we can’t guarantee the event will be free from Zoom bombing, phishing, or anything other kind of harmful attendee interaction.
Knowledge Fest is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. If we are determined to have any liability to you, you agree our aggregate liability will be limited in all cases to one hundred dollars (US$100.)
Please be aware that we may update and change any part or all of these Terms and Conditions at any time without notifying you first. If we update or change these Terms and Conditions, the updated Terms and Conditions will be posted at TBD (or other website we designate). The updated terms will become effective and binding on the next business day after they are posted. When we change these terms, the "Last Modified" date above will be updated to reflect the date of the most recent version. We encourage you to review these terms periodically. If you don’t agree to these terms, then you shouldn’t register for Knowledge Fest.
That’s that! Now, let’s get out there and have some fun!
